The strategic advantage to partnering is the creation of a mutually beneficial business relationship.
WHY HIRE AN INDEPENDENT ACCOUNTANT INSTEAD OF A LARGE REGIONAL OR “BIG 4” FIRM?
Because as an independent accountant, my success is based on your success and satisfaction. It’s in my best
interest to make sure that you’re always a satisfied customer. And who else can understand a small business
person better than another small business person? After the initial meetings, you'll still be able to talk with me; you
won't be passed off to a rookie staffer.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM AN INDEPENDENT ACCOUNTANT? In a simple phrase, you can expect “client-
centric" service. What does that mean to you? It means having a real working relationship with your accountant.
When you call with a question, you'll talk to the owner of the firm; a professional with answers. It means not having
to make an appointment and rearrange your schedule to meet with your accountant. I will come to you, at a time
convenient to you, evenings and weekends included! You can expect me to get to know you, your business, and
your needs… and provide solutions.
AS AN INDEPENDENT ACCOUNTANT, ARE YOU LIMITED ON YOUR RESOURCES? No. With memberships
in the Institute of Management Accountants and the American Institute of CPA’s, I have easy access to some of the
best accounting and business consulting resources available in the U.S. and the world.
I’M NOT SURE IF I HAVE ENOUGH ACCOUNTING ISSUES TO HIRE A CPA / CMA. WHY SHOULD I
CONSIDER IT? There is a simple solution to this question… let’s talk about your needs and concerns. My goal is
to have life long clients. So, if it is in your best interest to have a formal accounting system, cash flow reports,
operations analysis, budgets, or anything else, then I’ll make a recommendation, but the choice is yours. If your
system is sufficient for your needs, then I’ll tell you that too. I am your business advisor and consultant, not a Sales
Rep. In a long term business relationship, the truth will always prove itself. I know that and use it to the best
advantage.
IN TIMES LIKE THESE, I’M NOT SURE I CAN AFFORD THE ADDED COST. HOW CAN I JUSTIFY IT? Can
you afford not to justify it? Accounting is truly the “language of business.” How can you know what your business
is telling you, if you can’t listen. Would you drive your auto without the fuel gage, speedometer, or warning lights?
You can get by without them for a while, but you know what will eventually happen. The same thing happens with
businesses. Disagree? Just look at the failure rate of businesses less than 5 years old!
A FINAL THOUGHT... Most successful small business people rely on their "gut instincts" in making management
decisions. If something doesn't "seem" right, it probably isn't. If something "feels good," then it is probably the right
choice. If you have the feeling that your company isn't as efficient as it could be, or as profitable as it should be, or
something isn't right, but you can't put your finger on it, then you're probably right. You should make the decision to
investigate further... call me to discuss your business. The initial 1-hour consultation is free.
